David Putnam is a highly experienced and dedicated martial artist with over three decades of training in Martial Arts and self-defence. As the head instructor at Self Defence Combat Academy, he is committed to sharing his wealth of knowledge and expertise to cultivate strong leaders in the field.

 

David’s impressive qualifications include being an OCFM Coach, a distinction earned through rigorous training under Russell Stutely, making him qualified to teach the esteemed Open Circle Fighting Method system. In addition to that, he holds a 3rd Dan Black Belt in OCFM, showcasing his mastery in this martial arts discipline.

 

His extensive expertise extends to Pressure Point Fighting, where he has achieved a 1st Dan Black Belt, and holds the esteemed title of PPDT Level 5 International Instructor and PPF Instructor, all under the tutelage of Russell Stutely.

 

David’s proficiency in Muay Thai is equally remarkable, as he holds qualifications as a Muay Thai Trainer Instructor, Muay Thai Kru Instructor, and Muay Thai Grade 10, earned under the guidance of Grand Master Toddy.

 

Furthermore, he has attained a Kyusho Jitsu Level 3 Instructor certification and holds a 3rd Dan Black Belt in Kyusho Jitsu, both under the esteemed mentorship of Grand Master Art Mason. Additionally, he is an HPPT Level 3 International Instructor, having completed all three levels under Grand Master Art Mason’s guidance.

 

David also holds a 1st Dan Black Belt in Combat Hapkido, further solidifying his expertise in practical self-defence and combat strategies.

 

He is also a qualified Tai Chi Instructor under Jesse Tsao.

 

David’s diverse training background also encompasses Krav Maga, Wing Chun, Filipino martial arts, Ju Jitsu and an array of weapon systems, including tomahawk, knife, kali sticks, Kubaton, and walking stick.
